Brother 2340CV 2 & 3-Needle, 3 & 6mm COVERHEM STITCH

Product By Brother International Corp.(5 customers reviews)
Lowest Price : $348.00

Product Description
The cover stitch is what gives garments their professional looking finish. This stitch (also called a "cover hem") was previously available only on sergers, and then, often only on the highest-end sergers.

The Brother 2340CV is a more economical model, offering a wide 6mm, triple-needle cover stitch and a chain stitch. Because they only do these two types of stitches, they're extremely fast-up to 1,000 stitches per minute-and much easier to set up and use. They look more like regular sewing machines, and offer familiar features that make them easier to use than sergers, like a full size sewinbed, free arm sewing, vertical needle drop and a one-hand thread cutter.

This machine will allow you to hem T-Shirts, attach lace, attach taping and binding, sew decorative stitching, attach elastic, attach lace, do belt loop stitching, circular hemming, attach elastic lace & hem stitching

The cover stitch is especially suited to stretchy fabrics like knits, as well as the popular new blends of traditional woven fabrics with a small percentage of stretch fiber added for extra flexibility.

The cover stitch is a serger-type stitch made without the knives (no fabric is cut), so it can be used not only to finish hems, necklines, collars and cuffs, but also for decorative effects in the middle of the fabric. Cover stitches can be made with two or three needles.
Chain stitch One-needle, two-thread double chain stitch. For tape binding, joining woven fabrics and decorative effects. Expand your creativity with Brother's advanced technology.

"EASIER THAN EXPECTED" 2010-07-06
By P. Ashbury (Mendon, MI USA)
I was a little worried about using this sewing machine, but I can honestly say it was easy. Between the directions in the manual and the diagrams on the machine, I had it threaded in less than 15 minutes. I was able to find all the answers to my questions in the manual. After sewing a sample of maybe 10 inches, I decided I was ready and I hemmed a shirt for my mom. It looks professional. I know this machine will save me lots of time and money. I'm really glad I decided to buy it.

"works wonderfully" 2010-03-17
By Nor Laili Mahmud (Rawang, Malaysia)
I'm very satisfied with this machine, the stitches was very nice. I love it very much. For this machine,I have an option to either use 2 needles or 3 needles coverstich. One point to note is that this machine don't like a cheap thread, the stitches will break. other than that, it works beautifully.

"You have to get this!" 2010-01-09

I just got my Brother 2340cv Coverhem Sewing Machine and it is a dream! It took me a little while to thread it the correct way but it is much easier than my serger. And after a few times it will be as easy as my standard machine. I practiced a hem on an old t-shirt and then immediately started to hem all of my clothes that needed to be hemmed. It is so fast and the finished product looks like I took it to a professional tailor. This will pay for itself in no time! You won't regret buying this for hemming or making new clothes.

"Unsatisfied and Disappointed" 2009-11-14
By Reina (Venezuela)
The machine arrived to my country without any kind of accessories, the front cover DOESN'T CLOSE, it's totally out of place. Also, when I turn on the machine and I press the pedal, it does not sew. When I received the machine, it seemed to be already used, and I paid for a new product. The seller replied very late and he doesn't want to take care of the matter. I lost my money.

"Brother 2340cv Coverstitch machine" 2009-09-02
By Laurie Gelazin (Farmington, MI)
Just bought this coverhem machine from Kens Sewing. Five minutes after unpack I had a lovely, perfect 8" coverhem sample. That was yesterday. Today I have a lovely, new t-shirt with painless, perfect hems and bound neckline compliments of this machine. The machine isn't high-end (results are tho) but I'm thinking that it's going to help me puzzle out why my 4yo, $1500 Bernina overlock/chain/coverstitch can't make--never has--anywhere near an acceptable coverstitch let alone a chainstitch. High-end, schmi-end. This.Bro.works.good Oh, and, Ken has the best price (far as I can tell) in the US. Also, having fumbled the initial order I created an immediate customer service test. Ken and crew passed w/flying colors. I am one happy camper.
